Hello Mama! Welcome to the journey of pregnancy and childbirth! How excited I am for you! As you are busy going about appointments and creating registries, it’s so very important to find a supportive birth team that is on your side!
I am a mama of six children. I have had a wide range of birthing experiences from hospitals to home births. Two of my most challenging yet rewarding birth experiences include the birth of my second child at home- unassisted and unplanned- as well as my natural delivery of fraternal twins with one of them breech with assistance of a lovely midwife team in the hospital!
While raising my children, I stumbled into the hobby of photography and began schooling at Rhode Island School of Design. With twins on the way and relocating from Rhode Island to our home state of Connecticut, I gave my educational pursuits a rest to concentrate on my family again. Years later, while finding Pinterest, I fell in love with birth images the moment I saw them! The idea of photographing the intimacy and miracle of life captured and stole my heart away!
As a growing portrait photographer, I knew that birth photography was a career that I needed to pursue. With my love for the process of birth, I began to imagine that I would combine my two passions, providing doula support and birth photography. I knew that I could not be a birth photographer without supporting my clients from the start of contractions until the birth of their beautiful baby!
As a certified doula through Birth Arts International, I have also furthered my certifications in essential oils, acupressure and Rebozo birth techniques. I also have obtained certification in the Hypno-doula program through Hypnobabies. I hold a certification as an infant care specialist and I am a certified bereavement and loss doula through StillBirthday. I am currently enrolled as a student childbirth educator with Birth Arts International and following my dream to become a midwife through Midwife To Be.
My heart is to provide my services, though for some it may be financially impossible. I offer scholarship programs to women based on acceptance of an application by request.
When I am not attending births, I enjoy running, homeschooling my six kiddos and sewing for charities, crocheting, hiking with my family and taking my yellow Labrador, Marigold for walks.
